Engage and Persist
At the beginning of the lesson, the fourth grade students were asked: What does it look and sound like when you are engaged and focused on your work? How do you get your mind right to persist with something that is hard and not give up? We discussed and reflected on these questions and then practiced drawing an eagle several times. Each time, either I noticed or a student noticed the classes behavior and tracked how the students were demonstrating Engagement and Persistence.
